maidenfate@aol.comWriters We've Lost is a collection of obituaries for writers, editors, journalists and authors. This frequently updated Weblog serves as a notification service and as a place for the public to post tributes.
Jade Walker, a New Hampshire-based writer/editor with a passion for obituaries, compiles the Writers We've Lost Weblog. As the overnight editor/producer of The New York Times, Ms. Walker published the Obits section of the Website each night, and spent a year working on the Portraits of Grief, a collection of obits for the victims of the Sept. 11th terror attacks. Currently she spends her days commemorating the famous, infamous and extraordinary on The Blog of Death (http://www.blogofdeath.com), and her nights working the graveyard shift as the overnight editor/producer of Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com).
Ms. Walker launched Writers We've Lost on Jan. 1, 2007 to honor and remember the lives of scribes and editors who've recently died. Each entry includes the writer's name, age, claim to fame and cause of death (if one is available). Links to a recent obituary and to the author's Website or Weblog are included as well. Readers may visit the site on a daily basis or subscribe to its RSS feed.
